Monsieur Houston

Hey y'all~ Welcome to the August version of this blog post! I also took a one day trip to Houston, Texas. See how I felt about going there. Did I hate it? Would I return? Click below to find out!

8/4 Today, it was time for me to bleach this new growth. I did it in a method of my own, which is not recommended. Using my mixing bowl and brush. I just didn't want to waste my time with the bottle which was included with it. I left the product in for an hour before washing it out with Generic toning shampoo. I used the conditioner included with it【the bleach kit】. Then I followed up with Aussie 3 minute deep conditioner. Lastly, I used my L-O-C: Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter Trio Set 【Growth Moisturizer, Growth Oil, Leave-In H2 Conditioner】.

Here are the results.  I didn't bother using a toner this time. Overall, I am pleased with the turn out. I was afraid of my hair returning to that gooey state it was years ago. It is a little damaged but not as bad as it was years ago. Whenever I return to Sephora, I will purchase that Olaplex Hair Perfector No 3 Repairing Treatment. I am done with my hair for this year. I will bleach it again next Spring.

I had to make a video about it. It's very tiresome.

Edit- You can view the video 'You can't heal from the environment that broke you' under my videos post.

Received these samples in the mail today! Nexxus Keraphix shampoo and conditioner! 8/6

Ah, I've finally opened my last fortune cookie. It reads: There is no way of judging the future but by the past.

8/8 My brother handed me two plastic small packages. Inside were these.

The funny thing is... I still have two or three more to receive from them. lol😆

8/10 Some more samples! I've been waiting for months to receive this! L'oreal Pure Sugar Grapeseed Scrub.

8/11 I headed out with my parents to Target. I bought a few groceries and my dad bought some Colgate【Sparkling White】and Crest【Baking soda, Scope】toothpastes for me. I wanted to get a tablet but my dad told me that we'll get it after our trip! Yes! Found out today I am finally going back to Houston! Toot toot! My phone has gone to sh*t. I will have to replace it then. I will have to rely on my cameras to take pictures from now and on.📸
Taken August 11th

I went on a spree at Dollar Tree. I will post what I've bought  Global Beauty Care Premium Collagen Cleansing Cloths, Charcoal Facial Wipes, Premoistened Acne Wipes, Apricot Scrub, RichRadiance Cocoa Butter Cleansing Wipes, April Bath & Shower Japanese Blossom Body Lotion, April Bath & Shower Japanese Blossom Body Splash, feminine wipes, more Crest 3D White-Radiant Mint toothpaste, usb cord, flossers, 2 Dove soaps, toothbrush and etc.

As of tonight, I've tried the Rich Radiance Cocoa Butter Cleansing Wipes and I am very impressed! It left my skin feeling hydrated! I just hope that by morning, it doesn't break my lips out in hives.

8/13 Looks like it's the end of the road for me and L'oreal PT website. As of this year, they are only compensating through bank accounts. Although I have been in talks of getting one, but since I am not working, it's not possible. Oh well... As the saying goes; all good things come to an end. Thanks for the five years of freebies!

8/14 Anyway, I got these samples today.

I was suppose to get these yesterday but I guess whoever was delivering didn't feel like delivering it.

8/16 Oh look, I got more! I told y'all! LOL

The first time we went to Houston was back in the late 90s , and it was HORRIBLE. We brought some family members of ours and that made our time suck! All of the arguing and bullying, I couldn't wait to get rid of those *ssholes! The second time we went, it was forgettable【2002】. I remember listening to my Michael Jackson cds on our way there. That was the only memorable thing about that trip. I swore to never return with those *ssholes again! I hated that my dad wasn't with us. I remember all of the old school music we listened to while we were there: Coffy by Roy Ayers【this song was playing at night when we first arrived in the city-I remember us driving under an overpass, a lit stadium sign and the city itself from a distance】 & 187 Proof by Spice 1【this song was playing in the day time while we were driving around】. My favorite time about that horrendous trip, was that night at the motel, I was standing outside with my brother while my nephews were swimming. The door to one of the motel rooms opens, and out walked these fine *ss Mexican guys dressed in white shirts and black pants. I damn near lost my mind! That was it! The rest of the trip sucked because of my mom's family! The third time I went to Houston, it was brief, and for a funeral【2005】. So this is my forth time going.

Happy to be back without those mentally unstable asylum escaped patients. I've come to terms as into why you almost never see Blacks travel together. EVER! They are either by themselves or with non-Black people. Houston is the closest to California I will get for now【literally since someone told me that folks from Cali have been moving to Houston because of the high cost of living there】.

8/18 This trip was a last minute thing. I wrote what I said above months ago. My views have changed since this trip...

We went to Enterprise to get the car after I used my account. I didn't wear anything dressy and I'm kind of glad that I didn't. I will explain later on...

So we get on the road. Boy, was it a long trip! Also, we passed through cities in Louisiana that had stores that I've never heard of! I've seen casinos I've never seen before. And I wanted to go to all of them! But we were running out of time. I swear we heard Boo'd up at least ten times. I could only sing it for the first four times until I was tired... lol

It stormed in a couple of cities before we arrived. The thing about long trips, is that it gives you possibilities that you could or could not go to these places in the future. As much as I despise everything about Louisiana, I was yearning to visit those cities where those casinos and other businesses were. At least once we stopped in West Louisiana【I forgot which city, forgive me】, the folks there were nice. It's like what one Black lady told me years ago that West Louisianians act like Texas people. Eh... I doubt it.

We stopped in Lake Charles at Wendy's. We had some complications with the trunk of this Hyundai we were driving. So mom waved at this White couple in a truck and a White lady stepped out. She looked up how to use the trunk on her smartphone but after pressing keys, we managed to get it open. Thank you lady! Here's what my brother and I ate inside.

I had to use the map on my phone【and my mom's】to find our destination. Here are photos I've taken. I didn't bother taking pictures of the Houston Galleria because the entrance we took looked bland.

I went browsing around with my brother. I felt overwhelmed. Let me add in, that it was really hot in this mall! I got musky quick! So many stores... Yet all I could buy was from Windsor, Agaci and Sephora. None of the other stores interested me. Doesn't that sound familiar? For those who are not familiar with my platform, I am talking about the Mall of Louisiana. So many stores yet there's only one or two that spark your eyes. The restaurants didn't look all of that intriguing. As for the people, I have mixed feelings bout them. I felt out of place, I guess because I am a country gal【and PROUD】. And I was going through one of the largest cities in the world. The women were beautiful. I couldn't say the same for the guys. I saw more guys switching and twitching than anything. I also got a misogynistic vibe from them. I've only seen like two interracial relationships. The females were hanging out with each other. Where the hell were all of the biracial guys??? I saw none! I've walked this entire mall and could not find one biracial guy! Just mostly Mexican guys! One thing I've noticed about this place was that the thirst wasn't as bad as it was in SE Louisiana. I was just another pretty face in the crowd of others. That's not a bad thing because again, I wasn't impressed with the guys anyway. The only cute guy I saw was in Sephora. He had long, curly hair and I even complimented him on it. It's been a long time since I've seen a good looking White guy. Out of all the ones I've seen in this mall, I was literally SHOCKED! The guys looked like hot trash and that's disappointing for this type of city. I thought the Asian chick was gorgeous at this one shop, I even complimented her skirt. I didn't think about my mother standing there. lol I only got one compliment from this cute Black chick working at Sephora. She liked my bleached hair. I didn't comb my hair that day and didn't care. I'm glad that I dressed down with just my pink shirt and fitness pants. I've noticed that none of the ladies wore that which is the typical outwear for Louisianians. The women appeared to have been in great shape with their tiny waists. I think I've only seen a few women wearing natural hair. The majority had weaves. It just dawned on me that maybe it's the poor that moved from California to Houston. Hmmm... I could tell by the way the Blacks dressed. It looked like something the 'poor' would wear. Heh, I should know. I know for a fact that I do not like cenobites regardless of where they come from! That includes the ones in Houston Texas! I just wanted to let you guys know this!

This little Black boy approached me as I was walking, handing me some CD, talking about his dad. He wanted ten dollars for it. I said no. He said can you give a donation? I said no again. He walks off. I hear some folks behind my back chuckling【Houston people are very immature-learned that from the wh*re who works a Walmart in Baton Rouge】. Not sure if the little boy rolled his eyes or whatever. Don't care. Just wish Black men would stop begging. And now they got their sons out here begging.

My brother kept walking off, he has mental issues and it was getting on my nerves. My mom and I went off to look for him until I saw him going back to where we originally were. I asked him where did he go, he said he was looking for me. ~sighs~ It was closing time, and I was just done! This place was giving my claustrophobia, right along with their small *ss parking garage!!

My mother thought we were going to be lost on our way back but I had to tell her to trust me, I was going to get us home one way or another. I hate this constant bickering that she does. I get it, you hate Houston because of a traumatic experience that happened to you in your life. I just wanted to get away for a while. I had a terrifying nightmare and I wanted to try to cleanse my soul. Instead I ended up feeling a little worst. I won't tell my brother this because he had a great time??????? Huh??????? This trip didn't go as planned but at least I got me some cute new clothes and skin care. ^_^

Bad news about this trip is that my Tatcha cleansing oil is leaking. I had to return it to the other Sephora and got Shiseido to go with it. I also used my gift card since I wasn't sure if I was going back. I have to hear back from Agaci regarding a pair of rose gold shades that the cashier didn't put into the bag. This sucks but like I said, this trip was a last minute idea. Let me break down everything I've purchased on this trip:

Windsor: Rhinestone Chain Bustier- Despite the top looking like the chains have came off or more will come off, I am really happy with my purchase! They just saved me $300 bucks since I had been wanting to purchase the one from Victoria's Secret!

Agaci: Bought a bunch of clothes from there, just hated that they had no tops for me to choose from, as far as the winter is concerned. I have to put on my big girl panties and actually go back to that MOL. I've noticed that one of the tops I've purchased from here looks similar to D.I.A.

Sephora: Clinique 3 Step, Olaplex No. 3, Tatcha Best Seller Set, Biossance Vitamin C + Rose Hip Oil, Glamglow Insta Mud, SKII Pietra Welcome Set and a bunch of samples【5 Belif(Korean)-The True Cream Aqua Bomb, Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm, 2 Philosophy Purity 3 in 1 cleanser for face & eyes,  6 Korres Greek Yogurt Smoothie Priming Moisturizer, It Secret Source Anti Aging Moisturizer, Beauty Blender Makeup Remover Wipes, and Clinique Pep Start 2 in 1 Exfoliating Cleanser from White daddy working there!

I could not believe how trash Hot Topic and Spencer's were! Too damn small! I was actually going to spend money at HT but there was literally nothing in there for me to buy! Need to put my money into my Paypal account and stick to buying online!

This is my aftermath of this trip. Right now, I don't know how I feel. I feel conflicted. I plan on going to San Antonio. Heck, when I saw the sign, I got happy! I would be able to see my homegirl who lives there. I still want to go to Los Angeles. But I worry will my fate be the same as it was in Houston? It's difficult to fit in when you just have a natural and healthy hatred of people. I was having mixed emotions on our way back. I went from disappointed, to depressed to content. It seems like on our way home, I had a headache that strangely went away as soon as I got home... Hmmm...

8/19 We had to return the car, and of course, I had to return BACK to Sephora【read above】. I had no problem going back to our Sephora. I never had a bad experience here. I got an exchange, as well as picked up Shiseido set. One of the workers made a sample for me since they had none. I purchased mostly Japanese skin care. I've always admired Japanese women's flawless skin. While I was here, I had a peek at the latest birthday freebie for this year. I can't tell you guys what I am picking! One of the ladies made me a sample of Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment and Luna Sleeping Night Oil.

8/20 I made a video!

Xin Thanos discusses her short trip to Houston Texas and reveals her goodies haul that she purchased from the Houston Galleria. I sincerely apology for the production of the video, it's this webcam. I will do better next time! :[
8/22 I got my L'oreal Yuzu Lemon Pure Clay Mask!

And I got my rose gold aviators from Agaci! Thank you for sending them to me!

Looks like my SK-II Pitera Welcome Kit has parabens in it, this will be apart of my daily regiment and save the cleaner products for later on this year or whenever I go somewhere. I am not taking it back because it's too far【Baton Rouge is far from where I live】.

8/25 Today, I went to Gonzalez, Louisiana with my folks again. Also I used my Shiesido kit and I absolutely love it!

I was happy that my mother was in a better mood than last Saturday. We didn't stay here long, boy was that highway to Gonzalez horrible! We only browsed a couple of stores but only purchased from Nike, Old Navy and Claire's. Of course ya'll know the last one was all me. lol Old Navy is still on my sh*tlist along with Banana Republic! After we departed there, my mom had a coupon for Jack In the Box; 2 Ultimate cheese burgers for $5. They wanted to eat at Burger King and mom bought me a Coke icee from there.

I've tried my Glamglow Instamud tonight after I used my 'Neutrogena?' makeup removal wipes. I love the tingling of the product. It left my skin feeling smooth. Since the package itself is small, I will only use it sometime. I would recommend using the product at night, but that's just me.

8/26 Oh yeah, I used my SK-II kit. So far I like it. It doesn't make my skin greasy like others.

Prior to my slumber, I just had to try my Tatcha kit. I had been thinking about it all day. I've tried the first three because the last step was to go underneath makeup. My goodness this stuff is amazing!

8/28 Loving that Biossance. Always did! This one is different from the samples I received years ago. I do need to be careful with it because it will make your face greasy!

Anyways, I'm tired.  If you have enjoyed this blog post, please feel free to comment and donate. Thank you.✌
